super snow day fun

another great day!  

home for mlkj day.  just a coincidence that we had about 5-6 inches of snow up here.  a beautiful fluffy snow.  not the greatest for making snowmen, but we did our best.

i had b out for two hours in the morning and about an hour in the afternoon.  he was so tired after the first round that he actually fell asleep in the high chair while eating lunch.  that was followed by a 3 1/2 hour nap.  a mother cannot ask for more than that.  

during his nap i knitted and baked some crazy fish-shaped sugar cookies.  and read magazines. and roasted a turkey breast.  3 1/2 is a really long time to have to yourself when you're not exactly used to it.  turkey turned out great.  flavorful and incredibly juicy.  i have my secrets.

mmm came home (he's been writing furiously for days- he's here in body but not in spirit!) and we headed back out to make the last two snowmen.  i've got to say, i'm 32 years old, but making snowmen is just as fun as it was twenty some years ago.  note how the "baby b" snow man actually resembles a snow owl.
