i've been knitting a lot more lately and wish i could spend far more hours on it than i do. i've also been reading (currently devouring the last symbol) my "to read" list grew by three books this afternoon.
work is, as always, spinning out of control. i am eternally grateful to have a job, especially one that piques my interest, challenges me, and offers up kick-ass insurance. BUT, i came to the realization today that accomplishing everything laid out before me is pretty much an impossible task. accomplishing to my standards, anyway. i know i need to learn to live with this or i will go crazy. either that or i'll start working 60 hour work weeks. but that cuts into my husband/kid/reading/knitting/yoga/cooking time and i just don't know if i'm the kind of person who is prepared to give that up.
i had the opportunity this weekend to cook two good meals. chili and cornbread one evening and turkey dinner the next. i made ina garten's dijon roasted onions with turkey. an experiment that turned out quite well. also made pumpkin cupcakes with maple cream cheese icing from the art and soul of baking. evil. pure evil. bbb and i also made yummy sugar cookies. he had lots of fun frosting them.
in other news, we took bbb to get his big boy bike on friday evening. after riding for, oh, 32 seconds on saturday he looked at us matter-of-factly and said, "that's ok. i'll just walk." that's my boy.

Hey! Enjoy your time with B. Work will always be there tomorrow...himat 2.5 won't. I think we both know ever if you finished that pile of shit on your desk, someone will throw another pile there tomorrow. Drink wine too...that helps!
