the royal mile

walked and walked and walked today.  you can check out the route here.

this city is much, much more than i expected.  i think i expected it to be dead and cold and ominous.  but it's actually very alive and friendly and beautiful.  you weave in and out of medieval sections to georgian to modern.  fascinated by the carvings on the buildings.  st. giles cathedral particularly impressive.

after our wanderings we had traditional tea in the lobby of the hotel.  tasty and pretty.

fairly beat now.  will most likely nap til dinner.

can't wait for my webcam date with the hubs and baby b.
