thanksgiving

we had a great thanksgiving weekend. a nice mix of doing things and doing nothing.

we visited cabella's on the way to columbus saturday. i think i enjoyed the stuffed dead animals much more than bbb did.





we spent thanksgiving day traveling and ate my mom's. friday we took bbb to his first movie- a christmas carol in 3-d. this was probably not the best idea for many reasons. first reason- he refused to keep his glasses on so heaven knows what it looked like to him. second reason- HE TALKED THE ENTIRE TIME. loudly. we were "those people". it was not great! but i think he liked it!

today we relaxed around the house and visited with the webers. big boys go home tomorrow. then it seems like it will be christmas before we know it. i'm utterly unprepared!

happy thanksgiving

i love this day more and more every year.  i love what it means.  i love taking the time to really reflect on all the good things we have.  i love eating good food and enjoying good company without all of the pressure that comes with christmas.

b and i slept in this morning til 8:18!  i think that's the latest he's slept since his birth.  reason enough to be thankful, right?  i dove right in to baking.  fixed the creme brulees, chocolate muffins and sugar cookies.  gotta say, i was exhausted before noon.

mmm and the boys arrived around 1:30.  shortly thereafter b and i both took much needed naps and headed to my mom's a little after three.  such good food!  a walnut and cheese dip.  corn and potato chowder.  mashies.  turkey.  yams with pears and pecans (which i don't like but looked so pretty).  then the desserts.  i could explode.

sitting here with mmm and s watching elf which has got to be one of the sweetest and funniest movies ever.  too many good quotes i can't even keep track.  early to bed tonight i wager.  i'm beat.

lots to be thankful for today.  couldn't ask for anything more.  

commence relaxation

i am so excited for thanksgiving break!  treating myself with a day off tomorrow which makes the deal even sweeter.  we hit the grocery store after work.  i have enough supplies to bake and bake and bake til my heart's content.  i fully plan to not leave this house until dinner time on thursday.

something i'm entirely thankful for is this.  matt pond pa put out a new EP just in time for the holiday and they are giving it away for FREE!!!!  i haven't listened to it yet.  waiting til i'm relaxed enough to fully savor it.  

watching the last episode of the shield with mmm.  some characters i will miss.  like dutch.  and dani.  and julian.  and some, like MAURA- well let's just say i'm sitting here waiting and hoping that she dies a terrible death.  and don't get me started on shane.....

i'm in such a good mood i don't even know how to control myself.
